Recent evolution in planting

In 1955, apple trees planted in the pastureland occupied over 60 % of the area. Since then, economic transformations in agricultural activity have lead to a reduction of these spaces. Today, the policy of valorising orchard fruit, particularly by defining quality-controlled areas, could lead to the replanting of cider orchards.
